September - April: Warranty Risk Management Surveyors submit initial nominations.
May - June: Nominations are verified by Regional Surveying Managers.
July - August: Nominees are announced and judges visit nominated sites.
September: Nominees are shortlisted and finalists are invited to The Bricks.
October / November: Finalists are celebrated and winners are announced at The Bricks.
As a registered developer with LABC Warranty, your development is eligible for nomination providing it meets the entry requirements.
LABC Warranty Risk Management Surveyors are responsible for putting developments forward for initial nominations during their site visits, providing developments meet the following criteria:
1: Most stages available for judging and must include finishing’s.
2: All apartment blocks and commercial developments must be at least 50% completed.
3: Nominations considered are for total site sizes and may include different warranty policy types, i.e. a site with 40 units of new homes and 20 units of social housing would fall under the over 51 unit’s award category.
4: Where a site is nominated under the Conversion / Refurbishment category, a conversion will be considered as a change of use of the building whereas a refurbishment will retain the same use.
5: Nominated sites must be covered by LABC Warranty and have been inspected across most stages of the build by LABC Warranty Risk Management Surveyors.
6: A development that has won in two consecutive years will not be eligible for nomination the following year.

Each nomination will be scored on site, looking at specific areas of the build including foundations, substructure, superstructure, finishes and site organisation. Developments must display a high standard in technical competency and build quality as well as meeting the below criteria:
- Good build quality
- Good site management and leadership
- Compliance with technical standards
- Most stages of construction available for judging
- Supervision on site should be on a permanent basis
- Site/project managers should demonstrate a high level of organisational and customer service skills
Consistency and quality of work must be evident across all trades and build stages. Good management, well planned sequence of work, ensuring a safe site throughout and choosing not to accept 'second best' are all key tips to securing your win.
